Connecticut DUI Penalties
First DUI Conviction
Imprisonment -48 hours to 6 months
Fine - $500 to $1,000
License Suspension - 1 year
100 hours of community service if jail sentence suspended
Second DUI Conviction
Imprisonment - 120 days to 2 years
Fine - From $1,000 to $4,000
License Suspension - 1 year
100 hours minimum of community service
Third DUI Conviction
Imprisonment - 1 to 3 years
Fine - From $2,000 to $8,000
License Suspension - permanent
100 hours minimum of community service
PERSISTENT DUI OFFENDERS
A person convicted of manslaughter or 2nd degree assault with a motor vehicle who was previously convicted of a DUI related offense within the last 10 years will be classified as a persistent operating under the influence felony offender
