Michigan Dui Penalties
FIRST OFFENSE OWI/OWVI
The fines for a first offense range from$100 to $500. A driver can be sentenced up to 93 days in the county jail. The driver's license will be suspended for a period of 30 days followed by 150 days of restricted driving privileges. In addition to these penalties, the court may order 360 hours of community service.
SECOND OFFENSE OWI/OWVI WITHIN 7 YEARS
The fines for a second offense range from$200 to $1,000. A driver can be sentenced up to 30 to 90 days in the county jail. The driver's license will be suspended for a period of 30 days followed by 150 days of restricted driving privileges. In addition to these penalties, the court may order 360 hours of community service.
THIRD OFFENSE OWI/OWVI
The fines for a second offense range from$500 to $5,000. A driver can be sentenced up to 1 to 5 years in prison. The third offense is considered a felony. The driver's license will be suspended for a period of 30 days followed by 150 days of restricted driving privileges.
